One token per 1,000 words
ProofedAI is priced in tokens. Proofreading a document costs one token per 1,000 words or part of 1,000, with a minimum of one token. Adding a fact-check costs the same again. Every new account starts with 10 free tokens, enough for up to 10,000 words.

How many tokens will my document use?
Words are rounded up to the next 1,000, so 1,001 words uses two tokens.

What is a token?
A token is ProofedAI’s unit of credit. A proofread costs 1 token per 1,000 words (or part), minimum one per document.
How are words counted?
Words are rounded up to the next 1,000. A document of 1 to 1,000 words uses one token, 1,001 to 2,000 words uses two, and so on.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No. You create an account with your email address or Google, and 10 free tokens are added straight away.
Does a fact-check cost extra?
Yes, the same again. A fact-check uses the same number of tokens as proofreading the document, so a 2,500-word report uses three tokens to proofread and three more to fact-check.
How do I get more tokens?
